One of the common misconceptions about personal fitness is that strength training will turn a woman's body into Arnold Schwarzenegger. Not True!
Strength training is essential to helping you tone your body and lose fat...And, pssst: It helps you beat cellulite! So girls, let's talk about strength training. I read this article from Fitness.com that busts the myths of strength training. Here are my favorite points:
1. If I stop strength training, my muscles will turn to fat. Botton line: It is impossible for muscles to turn to fat. If anyone tells you different, they are not telling you the truth.
2. I will become muscle-bound. The opposite is true. I have been strength training for years and my flexibility is fantastic. If you are into bedroom exercises, (wink and a nod), you will appreciate the renewed flexibility you get from strength training.
3. I am too old to strength train. WRONG! Actually, strength training provides greater benefits as you age. You are never too old to start.
There are other reasons. However, I DO recommend that you have a professional like myself guide you on how to get the most from strength training. Click the contact me button on the left hand side of my page for help on getting you into Springtime shape!
